I need to hear from you Lawndale

North Lawndale, I need to hear from you, believe it or not we are in this boat together. This is a non-for-profit organization which will cost us approximately $12 million dollars. To ensure that this project gets off to a good running start as Chairperson and President of this Center: (1) I have personnally donated $10,000.00; (2) we are in the process of obtaining a loan through Great Home Mortgage Corporation (we need $6 million matching funds); (3) the City of Chicago has donated land for this project; and (4) we are continuously completing and submitting grant applications to various state and federal government agencies as well as private entities.

LAWNDALE AREA COMMUNITY FAMILY CENTER will provide the following services: (i) Tutoring (i.e., mathematics, speech, computer lab and analytical thinking); (ii) HIV/AIDS Health Awareness (HIV Prevention and Substance-Abuse Program); (iii) Senior Citizens Awareness and Education of and Access to Preventive Health Care; (iv) GED (General Educational Development); (v) Occupational Training, Computer Literacy, Referrals and Placement; and (iv) Recreational (skating and bowling alley)
